independent clothing sales rep question, please help!?
Posted on Monday, February 25, 2013 by Abi Samsuri
Q. How do i find some clothing lines to rep? Do i go to boutique stores and ask if they have a sales rep in the LA district? Do i go to showrooms and ask? Do i go to magic shows or trade shows and ask?
My goal is to get fairly known lines(around 6) to represent. Whats the best way to approach this and how do i reach the buyers?! Please help!!

A. You need to aim higher. You want to be the rep for the manufacturer that makes the clothes sold in the boutique. Go to the big companies and apply.
Otherwise, contact recent fashion graduates at nearby colleges and get them to design clothes that you can manufacturer and sell. You are now the rep and the owner of the company. That is where the big money is.

A. What you can do is visit other women retail online stores and visit the brands listed (places like Ruche, ASOS, and Lulu's have this). Those brands have their own websites with wholesale information listed. Styles found on online shops like La Posh Style, Ruche, Spool no. 72, Lily Boutique and other sites similar to those can be found here:
* LA Showroom ( http://www.lashowroom.com ).
There you'll find brands like Tea n Roses and Lemon Tree, whose clothing is sold at the sites mentioned and more.
* Lemon Tree also has its own site Wholesale Fashion Place ( http://www.ltclothing.com )
* Ya Los Angeles (http://www.yalosangeles.com )
* CutieLondon (http://cutielondon.com )
* Mata Traders (http://www.matatraders.com )

Mall mania has hit Mumbai in recent years, with new malls popping up all over the city. Most malls are more than just shopping destinations. They've got huge food, gaming, and entertainment zones as well, offering fun for the whole family.
Unfortunately, many of the big malls are located in Mumbai's outer suburbs. This makes them quite inaccessible to the average visitor. However, there are still some excellent centrally located malls where you can shop til you drop! Here are five of the biggest and best Mumbai malls to choose from.
1. High Street Phoenix
www.flickr.com user Swami StreamThe tall chimneys at the conveniently located High Street Phoenix mall give away the fact that this area used to be full of textile mills before it was redeveloped. The highlight of the mall is its swanky Skyzone shopping space, full of premium national and international stores. These are located along side cheaper retail outlets to suit all budgets. You'll also find a courtyard containing food shops, bowling alley, gaming arcade, and sports bar. After shopping in the evening, head to nearby Blue Frog to hear some excellent live music.
Address: 462 Senapati Bapat Marg, Lower Parel, Mumbai.
Opening Hours: 9.30 a.m. until 9.30 p.m. daily.
Stores: Provogue, Big Bazaar, Pantaloons, Lifestyle, Lacoste, Mogra, Tommy Hilfiger, Next, Planet M.

The Eco Corner store is worth checking out for its unique range of environmentally friendly home and bath accessories, made by villagers. In addition to shops and a food court, this mall also has a 4-D cinema and large entertainment zone.
Address: Dr. Annie Beasant Road, Worli, (next to the Planetarium, near Haji Ali).
Opening Hours: 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. daily.
